Excel 10 Remote Input/Output Device The easy way to expand your  EXCEL 5000® Building Management System

Whether you oversee a small establishment or are the physical plant manager for multiple commercial facilities, Honeywell’s Remote Input/Output (RIO) Device is an easy way to extend your EXCEL 5000 ® System. When used with the Excel 10 Zone Manager, the Remote Input/Output Device extends the distribution of input and output devices across your Echelon ® network. Each physical output on the RIO is individually controllable from the Zone Manager, reading and commanding individual points as needed. When combined with the Zone Manager, other Excel Controllers and the Excel Building Supervisor, the Excel 10 Remote Input/Output Device provides the most advanced and flexible building control solution available anywhere. The open system advantage The RIO Device uses the Echelon LonTalk ® communication protocol. Each input and output on the RIO Device is defined as a LonMark ® standard sensor or actuator object which allows interoperability with third party LonMark Devices.

Installation flexibility Extended operating temperature rating (-40º to +150ºF) ensures worry-free operation even in extreme hot or cold environments, regardless of installation site. Flexible, remote applications When networked with the Excel 10 Zone Manager, the RIO Device provides programmable ancillary control applications including lighting and sensor averaging. Choose a remote mounting site outside conditioned space for connection of ancillary points, or mount directly in the control of a rooftop air handling unit. New flame-retarding material even allows plenum mounting.

Excel 10 Remote Input/Output Device Highlights

Excel 10 RIO Devices are part of the EXCEL 5000 ^® System family of integrated building control products and software. They are supported by the Excel Building Supervisor front-end software package, providing easy-to-use building control with a single global platform.

Controller Hardware

Excel 10 RIO Devices are powered by standard, off-the-shelf 24 VAC power. The hardware is rated for extended temperature operation from -40º to +150º F.

The device includes:

• 14AWG maximum wire size terminations
• On-board network jacks for quick commissioning and troubleshooting
• On-board status LED confirms normal functioning at a glance
• UL 94-5V flame-retardant construction

The RIO Device is easy to mount on a DIN rail using standard clip-on adapters. Field installation is accomplished quickly and easily with a standard size screw driver. UL94-V5 flame retarding-rated controller cover allows safe plenum mounting.
