Clad Wood Sliding Patio Doors - Specification Long Form
FRAME:
Select pine (finger-jointed) , kiln dried to a moisture content
of 6 to 12% at time of fabrication. Water repellent preservative treated
in accordance with NWWDA I.S.4. Frame thickness is 1-1/16" (27) at head
and jambs, 5/8" (116) at sill; Basic jamb width is 4-9/16" (1116); Overall
frame depth is 6-1/16" (1154). Frame head and jambs are clad with .050
(1.3) thick extruded aluminum. Sill consists of a .125 Fiberglass
composite sill and screen track. The door track is a stainless steel cap
insert. Installation fins provided. Sash profile is 3" wide.
DOOR PANELS:
Select pine (Laminated veneer Lumbercore), kiln dried to a
moisture content of 6 to 12 % at time of fabrication. Water repellent
preservative treated in accordance with NWWDA I.S.4. Panel thickness
is 1-3/4" (44); Corners are mortised and tenoned and fastened.
Panel exterior is clad with .050 (1.3) thick extruded aluminum,
lap-jointed. Operating panel has two adjustable tandem rollers.
Sash profile is 3"wide.
FINISH
Exterior: Exterior aluminum surface has a baked-on, electrostatically
applied, acrylic enamel finish. Finish colors are: bronze, white, brick red, eggshell, green
or sand. Conforms to the requirements of AAMA Test Procedure 603.7.
Interior: Interior wood surfaces are unfinished pine.
ASSEMBLY:
Sliding Patio Door units are shipped unassembled, complete with frame assembly, door panels, screen, assembly hardware, handles and locking hardware, vinyl installation fins, and instructions. 6-8 Height Sliding Patio Doors are reversible. 8-0 Height Sliding Patio Doors are handed.
GLAZING:
Premium quality tempered glass complying with ASTM C1048 fabricated into
hermetically sealed insulated units in accordance with ASTM E774-88 standards, with an overall measurement of 1" (25.4). Glazed with closed cell foam glazing tape and removable exterior
aluminum glazing bead.

WEATHERSTRIPPING:
Door units are provided with compressible weatherstripping, designed for permanently resilient sealing, when door panels are closed. PVC leaf-type weatherstrip located at the head parting stop and the side parting stops; PVC leaf-type weatherstrip located at the side jamb inside stops; weatherable PVC dual interlock system with pile and bulb type weatherstripping located at the door panel inter-lock; Vinyl leaf weatherstripping on the sill; close celled foam block located at the sill by the meeting rails; and pile "U-channel" located in the bottom rail of the operating door panel.
HARDWARE:
Standard hardware package includes handles, inside lock, recessed lock and
security footbolt. Keylocks are optional. Standard exterior handle
finish is black baked enamel, interior handle finish is stained wood.
Recessed lock is installed in the operating panel stile. Security
footbolt has dark bronze finish (Optional White).
SCREEN:
Extruded aluminum sliding screen assembly utilizes 4 adjustable steel
that engage in the sill track and head frame assembly
on the exterior side of the door unit, complete with latch and keeper
assembly and pile-type insect guard strip that compresses against the
operating door meeting stile when in the closed position. OXXO
double-sliding patio doors require 2 complete screen assemblies with a
connecting "H" channel.
