The Stucco Manufacturers Association announces a new strategic plan, including a national scope for its long-term vision.

The updated plan will focus on “Growth through Education, Expansion, and Partnership with Industry,” emphasizing a goal to make the SMA the recognized authority and technical resource on all aspects pertaining to the stucco industry. The SMA plans to be at the forefront of industry concerns and issues with the creation of this new strategic plan as well as the formation of a new committee-based organization. This new structure allows SMA to focus on Three Coat Stucco, One Coat Stucco and its Accessories markets. SMA President Kevin Wensel is encouraged by the changes at the association. “These are exciting times for the SMA. With the creation of the new strategic plan and committees, SMA has positioned itself to be the national voice for the plaster industry.”

In 1957, the SMA (Stucco Manufacturers Association) formed as a non-profit trade association comprised of the major manufacturers of stucco in North America, as well as their related suppliers. Their primary focus was, as it continues today, to educate the professionals in the building industry. Architects, specifiers, plastering contractors, building owners, interior designers, color consultants, and suppliers all can benefit from the expertise of the SMA.
