TV Host New Spokesperson For PURPLE® From National Gypsum

DIY Network's host of Mega Dens, Anitra Mecadon, will represent National Gypsum's PURPLE® family of products, helping homeowners understand why using PURPLE drywall at the beginning of a project provides performance, value, and peace of mind that lasts.

An award-winning interior designer, Mecadon describes herself as a "DIY, eco-friendly, made-in-the-USA woman who has hung plenty of drywall." She is in her fourth season as host of Mega Dens and is excited about talking "PURPLE" with homeowners across the country.

"My family was in the construction industry, and I'm trained in interior design, so I understand the importance of good construction practices," Mecadon said. "For me, that starts with picking the right drywall for every project, whether you're building a new home, adding a media room, or remodeling your kitchen or bathroom. I'm a big fan of PURPLE products and have used them for years because they offer so many benefits that last. They're naturally fire resistant, as easy to install and finish as standard drywall, and made in the USA. Those are big pluses for do-it-yourselfers like me."

With a strong background in art and theater, combined with a degree in interior design, she creates inspiring interiors and exteriors.

Mecadon will be making a media tour to promote the value of PURPLE products and will host the August 19 segment of DIY Network's 2013 Blog Cabin.
