East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc., the industry leader in First European Quality teak and other fine hardwood products, was given the prominent Best of Year 2007 Merit Award by Interior Design Magazine. The preeminent design competition recognizes superior interior design projects and products in more than 50 categories, where East Teak was honored in the "Eco Products" group. Best of Year winners were selected by architects and designers via an online vote October 15-26, 2007, which gathered more than 22,000 votes. Winners were announced November 29, 2007 in TimesCenter in New York City.

East Teak's FSC Recycled Teak was one of three Merit winners awarded out of 20 entries. FSC Recycled Teak is third-party certified as both legal and sustainable wood, as well as 100% reclaimed from post-consumer sources such as old structures, thereby avoiding the need to fell living teak trees.

"We are honored to have one of our newest products spotlighted by this awards program," says Matt Mladenka, Marketing and Sales Director of East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc. "Our FSC reclaimed teak has already received much attention from the interior design and architect communities focused on green building, and we see this type of product as a growing demand in building design."
