Specifications For Islander Screen Panels
Louvered Aluminum Screen Panels shall be the ISLANDER as manufactured by Willard Shutter Company, Inc., Miami, Florida, where indicated and as detailed on drawings.

CONSTRUCTION: Panels shall consist of a series of 1-3/4" wide fixed louvers inserted into interlocking box-beam frames, 1-5/8" thick and 2-1/2" wide. Each box-beam shall be packed with expanded polystyrene to firmly receive the louvers and add structural soundness to the frame. Heavy duty extruded aluminum I-beams shall be inserted into the box-beam for additional reinforcement as required. Louvers shall be roll-formed into a converse beveled-edge design and spaced in 1-1/4", 1-1/2", or 1-3/4" height increments.

MATERIALS: Box-beam and louvers shall be 3005-H26 roll-formed aluminum, .025" thick. Interior foam shall be expanded polystyrene insulation to meet Federal Specifications HH-1-524A. I-beam inserts shall be 6063-T6 extruded aluminum, .052" typical wall thickness. All fasteners shall be self-tapping stainless steel screws or aluminum pop-rivets, alloy 2024-T4. All component accessories and installation hardware shall be of high quality stainless steel or other non-corrosive materials.

FINISH: Box-beam frames and louvers shall be a special low gloss polyester enamel paint, roller coated over properly pretreated aluminum and baked at 400 degrees for durability and long life.

SHIPPING WEIGHT: ISLANDER Screen Panels weigh approximately 2-1/2 pounds per square foot, including wood crating.

Superstructures can be furnished upon request providing structural and architectural plans are submitted to Willard Shutter Company, Inc. Windload capacity of the Willard ISLANDER Screen is limited only by the design of the superstructure.

In addition to rooftop concealment, ISLANDER Screen Panels also make an excellent sunscreen when installed over windows or set out from a building as vertical panels. Also, many institutions and commercial buildings use them for screens to enhance, conceal, or protect their walkways and balconies from wind, rain, sleet and snow.
