Announcing AIASF Community Alliance Awards Honorees 

 

AIASF is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2016 Community Alliance Awards program, including naming Carla Jean Johnson* and Steven H. Oliver as the recipient of the program’s top honor, the AIASF Alliance Award. Community Alliance Award honorees will be recognized at the AIASF Community Alliance Awards Ceremony on December 9, 2016 at the California College of the Arts Perry Family Event Center.

“The AIASF Community Alliance Awards recognizes the individuals, design firms, and community organizations that shape the city in which we live and inspire us to be leaders in the creation of vibrant communities,” states AIASF Executive Director Jennifer Jones, CAE, IOM. “The diversity of disciplines and work recognized exemplifies the multidisciplinary nature of the built environment and the creativity required to ensure its economic, environmental, and social resiliency.”

In recognition of their contributions to the advancement and enrichment of the quality of life in the Bay Area, through their commitment to design excellence, AIASF strives to acknowledge these extraordinary individuals and organizations for their service to the Chapter, to the community, and to the profession. Their continued efforts to engage, educate, collaborate, and advocate elevates the value of design and its impact on the experiences of our daily lives.

Nominations were reviewed by a jury consisting of prominent members of the community, including Shalini Agrawal, Director at CCA’s Center for Art and Public Life; Michael S. Bernard, AIA, Founder of Virtual Practice Consulting; Susie Coliver, Principal at Herman Coliver Locus Architecture; and Patrick Otellini, Chief Resilience Officer at City and County of San Francisco.
