Even in this age of unrivalled innovation the setting and installing of tiles remains a highly labor intensive task. It is a slow, manual process that demands exceptional levels of precision, accuracy and a real eye for detail. Whilst we are aware of prototypes for robotic tiling machines we think it will be a while yet until the nation’s tilers have to hang up their tile scribes!

Given that tiling is a labor of love what could be worse than spoiling the final finish with an unsightly “work around” or “quick fix” to provide access to any concealed services located beneath the tiles?

Beautiful tiles and perfect tiling deserve an access solution that will not detract from the aesthetics of the finished job. A Howe Green product that will be simple to install and easy and safe to use.

The simple solution to providing access to concealed services:

For tiled flooring

Whether you are installing ceramic, granite, slate, marble or Terrazzo tiles the Howe Green range of floor access covers ( /) can be used to provide a virtually invisible access solution.

The access cover frame is installed in the flooring and the removable cover is infilled with the appropriate tiles. The cover can then be easily removed using a set of lifting keys or an Access Cover Skate.

The floor access covers are available from stock in a range of popular standard sizes and loading – from pedestrian traffic up to vehicle traffic with a 7 ton pneumatic tire wheel load.
Available in aluminum or stainless steel the covers can be supplied as a single hatch or duct run or they can be configured as a multipart layout if required. Options are available for double seals, fire ratings and different show edges.

If you need a bespoke size or loading the floor access covers can be precision made to meet your exact requirements.

Suitable for new build or refurbishment projects you can find Howe Green’s floor access covers in all manner of buildings and environments, from the Oculus in New York to a residential driveway.

"We would recommend the use of the Howe Green Access covers for the infill of Terrazzo / Marble / Granite / Limestone / Marghestone / Veronastone / Arenastone. We believe that Howe Green products represent the "Rolls Royce" of access covers and frames, and we can state quite categorically that we have never had a problem with them in all the years they have been in manufacture. Great Product (I have been in the trade for some 48 years)." -Des Kendall, Contract Director, Zanetti & Company

For tiled walls

If you are tiling walls, especially in restrooms and bathrooms where there is a need to access plumbing and pipework, use Howe Green’s wall access panels. There are two different wall access panels available – the Waldor 50 and the Tile-A-Door.

The Waldor 50 is a high quality access panel manufactured from corrosion resistant stainless steel. It has a concealed side hinge which makes it ideal for environments where frequent access is required to concealed services. The Waldor 50 can be found in the restrooms of the international airport in Washington.

The Tile-A-Door () is recommended when less frequent access is required to the service void. It is manufactured from mild steel and can be fitted with magnetic latches.
