GE Lighting Systems traces its origins to late 19th century, in West Lynn, Massachusetts. Its first offering, gas street lighting, gave way in the 20th century to carbon arc searchlights and eventually, fixtures using electric lamps. In 1955, the company relocated its headquarters to East Flat Rock, North Carolina, occupying approximately one million square feet of manufacturing, warehousing and office space. GE Lighting Systems is now a world leader in the innovation, design, production and application of HID (High Intensity Discharge), Flourescent, and LED lighting fixtures and applied systems.
