Many uses of Bullet & Blast Resistant Fiberglass Panels

Typically fiberglass composite panels are used for protection from a ballistic attack (bullets) or a bomb blast (shrapnel or debris). The panels are usually installed behind drywall or in the ceiling of a building. However, given the durability and non-corrosive characteristics of these panels there are many other uses for them.

Protecting flat surfaces such as walls and partitions from fork lift damage is a great application. The rigid fiberglass panel has a relatively slick surface that helps to deflect objects upon impact. With their construction of fiberglass and resin (similar to a boat or surfboard) the panels are impermeable and able to be cleaned. “Scuff-Tex” by Armortex is a good example of a product designed for this application.

Since the surface of a fiberglass composite panel is hard and durable, another application is that it can provide a platform for heavy equipment, machinery or vehicles if protecting flooring is a requirement.

Basically, any wall or floor surface that requires a long life and is not susceptible to corrosion, mold and is easy to install is a candidate for fiberglass panels.
