Recent Project by Nystrom: Al Hamra Tower, the tallest sculpted tower in the world

The Al Hamra Tower, the tallest sculpted tower in the world, is currently under construction in downtown Kuwait City, Kuwait and was designed by architectural firm SOM www.som.com . The tower will become the tallest building in Kuwait upon completion in 2010 at 412 m (1,352 ft). It will also be the tallest sculpted tower in the world.

The tower will include 98,000 m2 (1,050,000 sq ft) of commercial and office space. The building will connect to a five-storey retail mall which totals 23,000 m2 (250,000 sq ft) of retail space and will include an integrated theater complex and an 11-storey car park.

The Al Hamra Tower will have over 70 floors of office space, a rooftop restaurant and a spa. The shopping centre will include a 10-screen cinema complex and IMAX Theatres.

“Nystrom’s unique ability to provide custom solutions to complementary products within a challenging construction schedule provided the contractor with the right product at the right time” said Tim Aspinwall, Nystrom International Sales Manager.

Turner Construction www.turnerconstruction.com and Ahmadiah Contracting and Trading of Kuwait www.ahmadiah.com were the contractors on the project.
