Wild About Playgrounds

We Build Cool Playgrounds!

Exciting, imaginative, entertaining play-scapes that appeal to the real playground experts; the kids! Preferred by children hands down over traditional play equipment, our play environments are educational, interactive and created to partner with the classroom. Providing playful learning experiences that are based upon the natural world, our play structures expose children to paleontology, biology, geology and the natural sciences.

High Quality, Durable GFRC

Created from safe, non-toxic, naturally occurring minerals, Glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) is exceptionally durable, and actually strengthens as it ages. It is an economical material that is recyclable and perfect for the world of play environments because it can be molded into any shape to convey any theme. From dinosaurs and sea creatures, to replicas of famous buildings and archeological ruins, GFRC play events can be crafted to function as freestanding elements, or to easily integrate into traditional play systems.

City of Nairobi Park Safari Animal Sculptures

Park revitalization gets wild with kid-friendly animal play structures

  • Developed play structures to blend seamlessly with the renovation's wilds of Africa theme
  • Designed 3 animals: an alert lion cub, a resting hippo, & a majestic 12-foot giraffe
  • Crafted the animals using realistic details that stimulate imaginations and invite play
  • Built the sculptures with weather-resistant, kid-tough material

Challenge:
The City of Nairobi Park in Denver, CO needed fun, child-friendly play structures for its extensive renovation and revitalization project. It was essential that the sculptures blend with the park's safari theme, which reflects Denver's relationship with its sister city, Nairobi, Kenya.

Solution:
The 4 Kids artists created a lion cub, hippo, and giraffe - all crafted with realistic details to inspire young imaginations. The trio was constructed with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), a super-durable material that, pound for pound, is stronger than steel. GFRP is also unaffected by freeze-thaw cycles, making it the ideal material for Denver winters. As a result, these play sculptures will remain vibrant, low maintenance, and ready for play for many years.

Result:
The safari sculptures have become a favorite among the park's younger visitors. The giraffe - which towers 12 feet over the playground - is especially popular with little ones.

Next Step:
Whether you need one Wow! play structure or an entire playground, we have the know-how to manage your special project, from conceptual drawings to installation. Contact The 4 Kids to learn more about our kid-tested, kid-approved play structures.

About
The 4 Kids was born out of a desire to create high quality, one-of-a-kind park shelters and play environments that effectively appeal to children's natural curiosity and imagination.
