Project Snapshot
- The historical Liberty Theater in Lawrenceburg, Ind., originally built in 1893, underwent a two-year, $4.75 million renovation. The goal was to restore its musical roots while modernizing the space.
- The 13,455-square-foot building was transformed into a 450-person concert venue. New additions include a whiskey bar and dining area, while key architectural elements from the late 1800s were preserved and influenced some of the design.
BILCO Products
- BILCO supplied a roof hatch and Bil-Guard® 2.0 Roof Hatch Safety Railing System. These systems allow safe and reliable access to rooftop mechanical equipment.
- The roof hatch supports one-hand operation and an automatic hold-open arm, while the Bil-Guard® 2.0 system provides permanent fall protection at the roof opening.
The renovation of Liberty Theater transformed a long-abandoned building into a vibrant community destination. By combining modern performance amenities with preserved historical elements, the project created a welcoming space for audiences. The theater now supports live performances, dining and social gatherings, helping to revitalize the cultural life of Lawrenceburg.
BILCO’s roof access solutions played a key role in the project’s functionality and safety. The durable roof hatch and Bil-Guard® 2.0 system provide reliable access for maintenance while protecting staff from fall hazards. The project’s success was recognized with a Cincinnati Preservation Excellence Award and a Merit Award from AIA Cincinnati.
