Automated Vehicular Gate Safety

Automated vehicular gates provide security and convenience but also present entrapment hazards that must be considered in the design process. Miller Edge safeguards help architects and specifiers meet industry standards while protecting people and property.

UL 325 + ASTM F2200 Requirements

Since January 2016, UL 325 has required two independent entrapment protection devices per entrapment zone on automated gates. ASTM F2200 further outlines construction standards for gate types and operator interfaces. Sensing edges and photo optics are among the most effective solutions to meet these requirements.
