Reliable elevator operation depends on rigorous testing, and elevator test carts play a central role in this process. Designed to simulate weight loads accurately, these carts are vital tools for elevator service and repair companies to ensure compliance with safety standards and certification requirements.
Engineering and Construction
Each elevator test cart from Mars Metal Company is purpose-built for durability, serviceability, and ease of handling. The system is engineered as follows:
- Weight Configuration: Each cart weighs 100 lbs and carries eight individual 50 lb test weights, bringing the total load to 500 lbs.
- Robust Materials: Constructed with 1/4” steel plate and 1¼” schedule 40 steel pipe for strength and longevity.
- Mobility and Handling: Equipped with steel-core wheels featuring solid rubber tires, roller bearings, and grease fittings for smooth operation.
- Protective Finish: Finished with OSHA-approved oxide red paint for high visibility and durability.
- Security Features: Includes a ¾” diameter steel rod designed to accept a padlock, ensuring weights remain secure against theft.
Supporting Elevator Safety
By providing accurately balanced and easy-to-handle weights, Mars Metal test carts help maintenance professionals perform critical elevator safety checks efficiently. These systems are trusted throughout the industry to meet both practical service needs and rigorous safety standards.
