MarShield, an industry leader in product innovation, was contacted by a prominent energy company in Southeast USA to develop a barrier that would be extremely durable with high visual clarity and extreme impact qualities.

The energy company provides electricity to 7.8 million customers in six states in the USA. Its commercial business owns and operates diverse power generation assets, including a portfolio of renewable energy projects.

The energy company required a high-impact see-through mobile barrier for its machinery line that posed a possible threat of debris discharged from the machine when in operation. At the same time, the machine had to be visible and monitored by the operator at all times.

MarShield designed and developed a high-impact resistant see-through mobile barrier for this company’s machinery production areas. The barrier consisted of a thick polycarbonate clear view panel that provided outstanding impact strength, superior dimensional stability, high-temperature resistance, and high clarity.

Product Specifications

The overall size of the barrier was 36-5/8” wide x 77” high. It consisted of a 36” wide x 71.5” X 3/8” thick polycarbonate clear view panel. The frame was beige powder-coated steel, and the barrier was fitted with four industrial-grade swivel casters, two of which were locking.

Outcomes

The final outcome was achieved and the barrier developed overcame the challenge by providing superior impact protection and clear visibility at the same time. The client was very pleased with the custom-manufactured barrier by MarShield.

The barrier provided optimum protection and mobility to move around specific machinery at different angles when needed. More supply and development of these industrial hi-impact safety barriers is ongoing with this client.
