Sustainable Design: Translucent Panel Daylighting

Sustainable Design: Translucent Panel Daylighting

Optimize energy performance and improve the quality of your indoor environment without sacrificing strength or beauty with translucent panel systems. Illuminating large indoor spaces – from military hangars to school gymnasiums – with diffuse natural daylight not only decreases a facility’s dependence on artificial lighting, but also further conserves energy by cutting back on air conditioning. Unlike standard glass systems that may increase HVAC output in order to compensate for solar heat gain and hot spots from direct sunlight, translucent panel systems offer an environmentally friendly alternative. Mixed-glazed systems can also be configured with fixed or operable windows to allow for natural ventilation and improve indoor air quality.
